So, like I said, we did The Soup.
Here's the bit, in case you missed it:
I like Joel McHale. That guy? He's funny.
Here're the boys and Matt Weiner, celebrating after the stint.
HE HAS A CONTRACT AND IT'S GOOD NEWS AND I'M GOING BACK TO WORK AND THANK GOD AND I AM SO HAPPY FOR HIM AND US AND THANK GOD AGAIN.
And we won another Golden Globe.
It's been an ooooooookay week.
Preferably "The Soup" at 10/9c on E!, because you might get to see someone you know, completely murdering one of the two lines he was invited to say.
And a couple friends of his who nailed it.
Tonight! E! Be there!
If they don't figure this crap out quickly, I will finally have the excuse to leave them forever.
I feel like I am surrounded by shitty negotiations.
Also, Happy New Year.
It was, actually, a pretty amazing year.
1. I'll be on The Office tomorrow night.
2. Obama!
It's a good thing that imitation is something-something, because we're getting it all over the place.
First off, here's a little side-by-side of me from last year's Mad Men finale, and Bobby Moynihan from last week's SNL.
Also, next week's Simpsons Halloween Special has a little homage to Mad Men. Please to watch. It is ridiculously cool.
1. I watch Night Court reruns. They're on TV Land every weekday morning, and I DVR them and watch them. I watch them for almost entirely nostalgic reasons, but I will say that I found them to be about 75% cheesy, and about 25% genuinely funny. I legitimately find parts of them funny. I think this may be a sign of some deficit in my sense of humor, but further research is required.
2. We have started shooting season two of Mad Men. This makes me happy. The scripts have been amazing, and it's been wonderful being back at work with so many people I respect and adore. Also, at work the other day, Bryan schooled Aaron and me at No Thanks!. I exacted my revenge via a rousing game of Loco!. I will make game nerds of them all. And maybe we will play games whose names don't end in exclamation points.
3. Bea has started giggling once in a while. Yesterday, I was chatting with The Lovely Virginia and holding Bea in my left arm. My right hand was holding a pen, clicking it. Out of nowhere, Bea started giggling at the pen. It. Was. Awesome. That kid is funny/nice/lovely/loud.
4. My friend Andy continues to make awesome videos. He recently got a very super-awesome guest star for a video celebrating the 25th anniversary of Return of the Jedi. Please to watch, and subscribe to his new YouTube channel, Zilch Zone:
I wasn't enjoying it for a little while, but the last two episodes have been awesome.
The Lovely Virginia and I finally trekked to the DMV and signed up for our California licenses... only about six months late on that one.
We were both very nervous about passing the written test, but we both passed with flying colors (if "flying colors" means passing by the lowest allowable margin).
Only sad part is that I now have to retire this, my favorite license photo ever:
Oh, and kudos to Meredith Viera for not barfing all over Ann Coulter on Today this morning, especially when she said this of Rudy Giuliani:
What is appealing about Rudy Giuliani is what he did in New York, and also he seems sort of crazy enough that he'd nuke Iran, and that warms our hearts and, you know, at this point it's been years since an ex-wife has appeared in Vagina Monologues.
My God. I try to avoid politics here, as I've said before, but holy crap. Ann Coulter is a freaking maniac.
It's not a huge part, but I've been given a scene in an upcoming episode of Law & Order. L&O was the first audition I went on when I got to NYC two and a half years ago, and I've been in for them a thousand (read: twelve or so) times since... So it's good to finally nab one.
I'm gonna be one of those guys they interview in trying to track down the killer. "Look, I know he's suspiciously similar to the look of your perp, but so-and-so would never do that," et cetera.
I shoot it next Monday, and I assume the episode will air in January or February. Fingers crossed that I make it past the cutting room!
