1. Seeing Emily Blunt, Anne Hathaway, and Meryl Streep for the first time since the premiere of Prada. And they were all as lovely and wonderful as I'd remembered.
2. Having the main topics of any conversation center around, in order: a) my appearances on The Soup, and b) winning a SAG Award.
3. Winning a SAG Award.
Incredible, incredible night.
More later. I have to get on a plane to Vegas in 26 minutes.
I was messing around on Wikipedia, and looked up The Devil Wears Prada. There, in the cast list, was a link to my Wikipedia entry.
...which I did not create, and which references this blog.
Reading it made me feel funny.
First, Canada's Prime Minister. Now, several emails lead me to ask: Do I look like Richard Kind?
Because almost half the people who email me after seeing Prada say that I do. I don't see it.
Maybe a little tiny bit.
But not so much that people would think I'm related to him. As they often do.
Meryl Streep just won the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical.
That makes me very, very happy.
And her speech was good, too.
You can catch my tiny contribution to the Devil Wears Prada gag reel a few minutes in, when Anne throws a french fry at my head.
And the "finger on the nose" shots throughout were to dictate who had ruined a take upon hearing, "cut."
It was usually me, and not just because I was the last one to get my finger on my nose.
The Devil Wears Prada received three Golden Globe nominations:
- Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical for Meryl Streep
- Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy or Musical for Emily Blunt
- Best Picture: Comedy or Musical
Yay, Emily and Meryl! They're both so damn good.
EDIT: The Lovely Virginia and I have been checking the DVD out. I am entirely creeped out by how much the guy who dubbed my lines in Spanish sounds like me. It's very, very weird to hear lines you improvised getting interpreted into another language by a guy who sounds almost exactly like you.
A dude in Scotland killed a guy while wearing a light blue Prada hat. He was nicknamed 'The Devil Wears Prada Killer.' The victim's father sat in on the thirteen days of evidence at the trial. In reference to the blue hat the killer apparently rarely removed, the father said:
"It just confirmed to us the the Devil does indeed wear Prada."
Yikes.
'Devil Wears Prada' killer facing life

I truly don't know how to react.

I'm mostly looking forward to hearing my character dubbed in French. And I'm hoping part of the deleted scenes is me, Tracie and Adrian riffing on Anne calling us "a**holes" at the end of the bar scene... But somehow I doubt it.
