Updates to beat the band.
1. SAG Awards. Okay. So I've wanted to post pictures and all that, but we've had family in town and/or I've been sick with some type of flu (even though our pediatrician made me get a flu shot (against my will)), so it's been tough.
Here are some red carpet pictures.
If you're a Mad Men fan in the Twin Cities, you should listen to their show. In fact, if you're a Mad Men fan in the Twin Cities, it's probably because you listen to their show. They're awesome.
I've had a couple requests (seriously), so here's a full-length photo of me and The Lovely Virginia.
And my shoes -- oh, man, my shoes!
These beauties were designed by Mr. Phillip Bloch. He was gracious enough to allow me to wear them on what was one of the coolest nights of my life. They're his special design for Hush Puppies, and they're coming out later this year.
I was the first person to wear them out besides Phillip himself.
And that.
Is awesome.
It helps that a) they were comfortable as hell, b) which is WAY more than I can say for any other pair of dress shoes I've ever owned, and c) I also happen to love these shoes.
I'm sure it's some sort of fashion faux pas in Hollywood, but I imagine you'll be seeing these babies on my feet at future events.
2. Bea. This kid is crazy.
Crazy-awesome, that is.
Here she is celebrating our big night.
Last night, she decided to sleep for a six-hour stretch. This is the longest she has ever slept in a single shot. I had no idea how good six hours felt until I got it for the first time in seven weeks.
Man, it was good.
The Lovely Virginia and I think she probably did it as a gift to us for
3. Our Combined Birthday. Which is today. The Lovely Virginia and I celebrate our weird kismet-ty birthday(s) today. I am only older than her by one year, but it feels like a lot more years this year in particular.
Because I have turned thirty.
I remember my dad's thirtieth birthday party. It's one of my earliest memories, but it's there.
That's, how you say, "trippy."
Happy birthday, Wifus. This has been a good year.
[EDIT]
4. One more thing. Should have mentioned this last week. Bob Sassone, of AOL's TV Squad blog, linked here, calling this "one of the coolest celebrity blogs you'll find." That's weird on a million levels, not the least of which is calling this a "celebrity blog." But I appreciate it, anyway.
5. One more one-more-thing thing. Remember Improv Everywhere? (recognize the guy in the top picture on this post?) This is a prank they did about a year ago but just put up online. See me looking around like I have no idea what's going on?
Sometimes I miss NYC.

Happy Birthday!!
I'm a Twin Cities Mad Men fan, so thanks for the tip on Lori & Julia. I will definitely check them out when the next season begins. I'm so glad that you're back in the writing room!!
Anyway, I just got a request on the blog for SAG pictures and TADA! How synchronous.
Other awesome things are those shoes, your daughter (goes without saying), and that improv video. That improv video is AMAZING.
And the improv; I have done improv, and I have had to freeze onstage in plays, but I have never participated in that kind of stunting. And I am in both Grand Central and Bryant Park all the time, so it was extra cool for me. Wow. Just-- wow.
He's right about the blog, Rich.
You have the unique angle of "Normal Guy" doing the "Hollywood Stuff". It makes it fun to read.
The picture of the family with the red-carpet garb and the baby swing epitomizes that.
The fact that you are not ashamed to admit when you are star-struck is what makes it equally endearing.
It is fun (for fan, friend, family, and odd-guy-from-way-back) to watch you seem to have fun.
You come across as I guy I could have done high-school theater with (oh... wait...)
You and Virginia looked wonderful on SAG night and I think it's great that Beatrice did not spit up on either of you just as you were leaving the house. Very kind of her. :) And I bet you appreciated those six solid hours of sleep. Happy Birthday to you and your wife!
Your wife looks great for having a baby 7 weeks ago!! You both look wonderful!
I agree with Carl, it is great for those of us who knew you "back when" to see who and what you have become!
