It's actually a good thing you got this figured out so early. I had a friend who had to battle with Doctors and Insurance companies for 3 years to get the corrective helmet for her daughter! Both of her daughters had it, so it's something to watch for if you guys decide to give Bea a sibling.

I love the picture too!

Looks like her sunny disposition isn't letting that pink helmet bother her at all. Hilarious that you're stacking cuts.
Hmm, very close - torticollis actually translates to "twisted (tort) neck (collum)". You should get her a t-shirt that reads "Daddy's Lil' Cup-Holder"!

While the pink helmet is stylin' and good for potential ponytails, a flat head would provide a better canvas for any future flaming-dragon skull tattoos. Just something to keep in mind, since I know you're a good daddy and want to provide a breadth of opportunity for Bea. ;)
Crap! I only took one semester of Latin, and it was during summer school. Didn't pay much attention, obviously.
And LA weighed in via PM yesterday:

* - The Lovely Virginia and I played The Etymology Game on the way home from the doc, and came to the conclusion that 'torticullus' probably literally means 'flexibility cut,' sharing the same roots as 'contortion' and 'cull.' We are nerds.

I like it! Hey, I'm a professional in this matter, medical lingo that is (I'm a medical transcriptionist), and you guys aren't too far off at all! Tortus = twisted and collum = neck. It's actually torticollis, but I'm totally impressed at your nerdery.

My daughter just took her youngest (4 months) to a pediatrician today and discovered that he also has torticollis.
