NYC is still fun!

Having moved from there a short-time ago myself, yeah, you miss the great parts of the City (like autumn - nothing like fall in the Park) but 5minutes in the 14th Street stop and you remember the lovely things they leave out of the Omaha Church group tours and the Woody Allen cinematography. I'm heading there next month, though. So you just kinda got me hyped up for it. Thanks! - So fess up, in the last pic, are you a tad tipsy? That's a tad-tipsy hug, no? Like, "Duuude!". And I won't even ask what shenanigans resulted in the bad camera angle and debris in the hair of your friends there. -- Yes, NYC is still and always fun! Again, thnx for the reminder :D - Back to the BoSox game and my own drunk associates *lol*
God she's gorgeous.
I lost my wallet after that night. I was almost entirely sure [a certain party] had stolen it.

I went back to the bar a day later and they had found it. There was even money in it still.
I am very glad to hear that, so I don't have to threaten [a certain party].
Yeah, but it would have been an awesome story if it was true.

Christina actually was at UCB on Friday and came out to McManus, so I got to hang out with her too
Nice!

Your baby is truly adorable. She needs an agent asap! Glad you had fun in NYC!

Go Cobbers!
Go Cobbers!

I love NYC; I'm currently in Chicago which is always the bastard little brother, as far as I'm concerned, though lately it seems like the little city by the lake is starting to grow up.

My little brother PJ lives in the west Village, so I get to visit now and again.

I always think of these lyrics from " Little Orphan Annie " when I am in NY:

[lyrics by Martin Charnin - thank you sir ! ]

What is it about you
You're big
You're loud
You're tough

NYC
I go years without you
Then I
Can't get
Enough
Enough of the cab drivers answering back
In the language far from pure
Enough of frankfurters answering back
Brother, you know you're in NYC
Too busy
Too crazy
Too hot
Too cold
Too late
I'm sold
Again
On NYC

NYC

The shadows at sundown
The roofs
That scrape
The sky

NYC

The rich and the rundown
The parade
Goes by

That other town has the Empire State
And a mayor five foot two
No other town in
The whole forty eight
Can half compare
To you

Oh NYC

You make 'em all postcards

You crowd
You cramp
You're still
The champ
Amen For NYC (NYC)
The shimmer of Times Square

The pulse

The beat

The drive! (NYC)

The city's bright
As a penny arcade
It blinks, it tilts, it rings

Oh, NYC
The whole world keeps coming

By bus

By train

You can't
Explain
Their yen
For

[ this is my favorite part ]

NYC

Just got here this morning
Three bucks
Two bags
One me
NYC

I give you fair warning
Up there
In lights
I'll be
Go ask the Gershwins or Kaufman and Hart
The place they love the best
Though California pays big for their art
Their fan mail comes addressed to NYC
Tomorrow a penthouse
That's way up high
Tonight
The "Y"
Why not
It's NYC

NYC
You're standing room only
You crowd
You cramp
You're still
The champ
Amen For NY

NYC

[ excuse me, I'm a little verklempt....]

Love the blog. You should join Twitter. Your character — and all the other Mad Men characters are on there. You’d get a kick out of it.
So, in an attempt to find a good picture of Joan Holloway for my Halloween costume this evening, I happened upon your lovely blog here and proceeded to spend the next two hours of my life reading all of your old posts and looking at pictures of your baby and feeling like a creepy stalker. So yeah. Congrats on the show (it's amazing) and the baby (she's adorable). Keep making your fellow Minnesotans proud!
